A brief history
Nestling in the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, surrounded by extensive farmlands and situated in the municipality of Kwa Sani, lie the two villages of Underberg and Himeville.
In 1995, so as to counteract the problems of crime and stock theft in the area, the Underberg Farmer's Association formed farm watch, and appointed John Pearce as controller.
At the end of 1997, Farm Watch was disbanded.
In 1997 John was given the task of approaching the community with the idea of forming a Community Watch. This Organisation would offer an affordable, 24 hour emergency co-ordination service to the community as a whole. The UFA continued to fund John for a further three months whilst Community Watch was formed.
